 An Egyptian member of Parliament this week called on the United Nations to enact urgent measures to lift an Iraqi-government-imposed siege on the residents of Camp Ashraf, Iraq, home to 3,400 Iranian dissidents.
Mr. Mustafa Bakri, who is also the editor-in-chief of the weekly al-Asbou in Egypt, said in a message marking the holy month of Ramadan, “I urge all non-government organizations in the world to rise up in defense of the besieged residents of Ashraf.” |

 A Kuwaiti member of Parliament this week congratulated Iranian dissidents in Camp Ashraf, Iraq, for the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and expressed solidarity with them.Dr. Walid Tabtai referred to an inhumane siege imposed by the Iraqi government on Camp Ashraf which restricts the residents’ access to food, fuel and medical treatment, among other things. |

 153 of the most prominent judges, jurists, and law professors in Egypt have written to US President Barack Obama demanding that American forces in Iraq ensure the protection of Camp Ashraf residents.
The letter that was signed by the chairman of the Society of Egyptian Lawyers in Defense of Ashraf and 152 other personalities makes reference to the widespread influence of the religious fascism ruling Iran in Baghdad. |
