Gathering on Saturday February 13 in support of Iran uprisings

On Saturday February 13 we are gathering in London, Parliament Square, to support Iran uprisings and condemn brutal executions and to commemorate 120,000 brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom since 1981

12 February is the anniversary of the anti-monarchic revolution of 1979 which was hijacked by the mullahs who turned Iran to a land of medieval suppression in past 30 years. Brave men and women in Iran have vowed to make this day another expression of their dissent to murderous mullahs. We aim to gather on Saturday 13 February 2010 in London to echo their voice and to commemorate more than 120,000 who have been executed and millions who have been imprisoned and tortured for their thoughts and intelligence since early 1980.

Past 7 month, since the rigged elections in June 2009, Iran has been a land of upheavals. Many young Iranians have lost their lives in their quest for justice and democracy. Neda Aghasoltan, who turned 27 on January 24th, became a symbol for innocence of the demonstrators. We get together on Saturday 13 February also to commemorate victims of this medieval regime and to show our appreciation and support for the efforts that aim to bring human rights and rule of law to the land widely known as "Cradle of civilization", also known for kindness and hospitality of her citizens.

Political executions in Iran have been carried out on genocidal scale as a government policy and on the orders of the highest authorities of the state. The massacre of some 30,000 prisoners in 1988 took place in just a few weeks on the order of the then supreme leader, Khomeini, who issued a decree and wrote: "it is decreed that those who are in prison throughout the country and who remain steadfast in their support for the Monafeqin (the term regime uses to demonise the PMOI) are waging war on God and are condemned to execution".

Arash Rahmanipou and Mohammadali ZamaniNow this brutal decree is the basis of another genocide on the making against brave men and women who have risked their lives to come to the streets and express their dissatisfaction with the policies and actions of the medieval regime. They deserve our loud support.

Please be there and bring your friends and family along. This could be one of those historical events that would be remembered for years to come.
