Iraqi police attack on Ashraf, 28-29 July 2009

After nearly two months of illegal seizer of Ashraf by Iraqi forces, on Tuesday 28th of July 2009 at 16:00 local time, attack on Ashraf residents by Iraqi forces started using pepper gas, tear gas, sound grenades, clubs, wood-sticks, axes and metal bars. The police forces severely beat the defenceless Ashraf dissidents with batons, chains, and metal bars. The gates to Camp Ashraf were demolished by bulldozer.

11 residents were killed, over 500 severely wounded and 36 kidnapped.
